Cut List Optimizer ("the site") is a free web tool for planning cuts of sheet goods and lumber. This page explains what the site does and does not collect.

What stays in your browser

The sheet sizes, part lists, units and settings you type into the tool are processed in your browser. They are not uploaded to our servers.
To restore your last session and to keep up to three saved projects, the site stores your inputs in your browser's localStorage on your own device.
You can remove this data at any time by clearing the site's data in your browser settings.

Analytics and cookies

The site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to count visits and see which pages and buttons are used. GA4 sets two cookies: _ga, to tell visitors apart, and _ga_N223W1GS6Z, to keep track of a visit. Both expire after 2 years unless you delete them.
Analytics events describe actions such as starting a calculation, viewing a result, printing or copying, and clicking the Pro plan button. They do not include the sizes or part lists you enter.
Google processes this data under its own terms and privacy policy. Google Analytics does not store your full IP address. Analytics event data is kept for 2 months; after that only aggregated reports remain. You can delete or block cookies in your browser, or install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google Analytics runs with analytics storage turned off, so these cookies are not set.
The site does not show ads and does not sell personal data.

Accounts and payments

There are no accounts. The site does not ask for your name or email address.
The Pro plan button is a test of interest. It does not take payment and does not collect any details.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
